Why did you become a graphic designer?

I’m sure we all say something this, but I have always loved being creative. It started as a child who was obsessed with crafts, into high school where I’d stay behind and work on my artistic creations from both of the art classes I took (classes I near topped, unlike maths that I almost failed, ha!). Then when it came to ‘applying for University’, I looked into Architecture, Interior / Fashion and Graphic Design. And landed on Graphic Design. I guess being creative comes naturally and goes hand in hand with my Virgo organised nature and attention to detail (although not perfect, ha!). Can you tell I REALLY love my job?

What do you love about movement?

Well being someone who sits at a desk A LOT, movement is necessary for me to not feel uncomfortable in my body. I absolutely live for my Pilates sessions at BPM and have been a die hard Pilates fan since falling pregnant about 2 years ago (prior was Yoga/Gym but I Pilates has stolen my heart). Ultimately it makes me feel good physically and also mentally, knowing I have treated my body to a session. Also you’ve got to love that 1 hour to yourself as a busy working mother...

What makes you smile?

  • My family (alllll of them, most of the time, ha)

  • Wine (on the back deck with my husband along with his hilarity)

  • Travelling (settling for lovely long weekends away in this current state of the world)

  • Pilates (duh)

  • Incredible friendships (old + new)

  • Dancing with my toddler (let’s be honest most things about her make me smile, light of my life)

  • Working with likeminded clients on exciting projects and watching their businesses grow with my support (that truly lights me up)

What advice do you have for other women to love the skin they are in?

It sounds cliché but you have 1 life, life is short - just LOVE it for goodness sake. When you are at the end you won’t look back and think, gosh, I wish I was XYZ, you will look back at your memories, your happiness and your loved ones — that is what life is about. AND… If you’re a Mum – the little ones look up to you and how you treat your body (what you say, how you eat, how you move, your stress levels, etc etc, it goes on – it’s holistic!) so aim to be a decent role model, that will truly help them later in life.
