Read on to learn more about this BPM Babe…

Why did you become a remedial massage therapist?

Most people have no idea how good their body is designed to feel. Being able to provide a complimentary therapy for routine health and wellness, relief from aches and pains and recovery from injuries and surgeries is a wonderful way of helping people move, live better and is very rewarding. 'Do what you love, love what you do!'

What do you love about movement?

Moving my body consistently and regularly is an 'essential' and keeps me in good condition physically and mentally, allowing me to function well in all aspects of my daily life. I've created routines and practices that allow my body to operate at its optimal level, as I learn to embrace positively ageing and the journey this brings. Activities include; morning runs, daily gym sessions, boxing, tennis, my private Pilates sessions plus I throw in a 'Wellness Wednesday' which may include a Sauna, Massage or some other form of self-care. Exercising might be hard, but never moving makes life harder.

What advice do you have for other women to love the skin they are in?

Prioritise how you feel, rather than how you look. Good health and beauty starts from within and if you are nourishing your body and listening to what it needs, it shows on the outside. Remember we can do anything but we can't do everything. Finding time to do things that bring us pleasure, personal fulfilment and rejuvenation is important. Health is wealth and taking care of yourself mentally and physically is non negotiable. Include good nutrition, learn the value of sleep and hydration. Life is a unique experience for every person, so is the art of balancing it but we have to nurture our own essential needs first and include into our weekly routines the things we have to do as well as the things we want to do. Recharge your body physically and mentally and make the commitment to include some 'you' time within your week. You will feel more calm, grounded and motivated! It will allow you to be more present and appreciate the small victories that give us the push and motivation to achieve the bigger ones. When we feel safe, supported and secure within ourselves, the world is our oyster!
