BPM Babes: Meet Jacqui

Meet Jacqui - BPM Babe, Hospitality Consultant, Nutritionist, and self-described lover of food. Jacqui has been a permanent fixture on the Brisbane food scene since 2015 when she started making healthy (and delicious) bliss balls for cafes around the city. This led her to open her very own whole food cafe - Miss Bliss - before pivoting into hospitality consulting. Working with brands all over Brisbane, you’ve most definitely eaten something that Jacqui has created before. Read on to learn more about this BPM Babe…

Why did you become a nutritionist?

When I finished school I started working in the family business (like most other Greeks haha). It got to a point where I realised I wanted something more and started to think about what I really loved. As cliche as it sounds, food and cooking were the two things that I realised bring me so much joy. After a few years of arguing with my Dad to let me go to uni (I know - weird) I enrolled as a mature aged student for a Bachelor of health science in Nutrition. To me, food is not only fuel, it brings people together, some of my most memorable moments with loved ones are around a big table of food enjoying each other's company.

What do you love about movement?

I love what it gives me, it gives me confidence, strength and energy.

What makes you smile?

My family & friends, but most of all my nephews and nieces!

What advice do you have for other women to love the skin they are in?

I think some of the tips I practice regularly to love the skin I'm in is making sure I practice gratitude and speak kindly to myself. It's easy to get caught up in comparison and speak negatively about our own bodies, but if you can change that narrative, it makes a big difference.
